Alexandros Gaglias is a composer based in Boston. Originally from Greece, he began his musical training as a pianist and accompanist, working with dance schools and theater while studying composition. He earned a Higher Diploma in Piano from the Hellenic Conservatory of Music and Arts and a Higher Degree in Counterpoint and Fugue from Athenaeum Conservatory, before continuing his studies in the UK with an MA in Composition of Music for Films and Television at the University of Bristol. He is currently completing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Composition at Boston University where he is also engaged in teaching.

His music has been performed by Sound Icon, Mivos Quartet, TAK Ensemble, and ALEA III in the United States and Greece. Alongside his concert work, he composes for theater, film, documentary, and animation. His work across concert and media contexts reflects an interest in physical immediacy in sound, with an emphasis on density and timbral detail.

He has studied composition with Joshua Fineberg, Davide Ianni, Michael Ellison, and Neal Farwell. In addition to his work as a composer, Gaglias has extensive experience as a pianist, accompanist, teacher, and sound designer. He has worked with dance schools, theater productions, conservatories, and young musicians, supporting vocal practice, aural training, classical and modern dance classes, chamber music, piano, music theory, and music technology.
